COUNTY COUNCIL WIN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AWARD

Congratulations to Roscommon County Council and its staff on their recent achievement in winning first prize in the category of Economic Development at the Chambers of Commerce of Ireland “Excellence in local Governments Awards 2009”.

The awards, held by C.C.I. in conjunction with the Department of Environment Heritage & Local Government, are an acknowledgement at national level of standards of service and innovation amongst local authorities. Roscommon County Council was nominated by Boyle Chamber of Commerce and received the award in recognition of its foresight and initiative for its part in the re-development of Lough Key Forest Park. The County Council beat of competition from 45 other local authorities.
